About me

Being born with pencil and paper in hand, I have always been a doodler.  Drawing anything that sprung into my head…  Sketching my family and friends was a firm favourite.  Nearly 20 years later, I’ve been lucky to have the ever-evolving technology at hand and now my work is more computer based, on Macintosh systems to be precise after being introduced to them at an early age by my father, a graphic Designer.

In these 20 years I have based my education on my love for Art & Design, taking numerous courses at various levels including GCSE, A Level, National Diploma and at the degree level BA (Hons).  Without getting into too much detail, in 1998 I started secondary school, where I instantly chose to study fine art.  In 2001 it was time for my GCSE’s and took up Graphic Design, where I achieved a high grade B.

Graphic Design followed me for the next few years to Sixth Form College, where I took it at AS & A-Level and then specialised in the subject at National Diploma Level where I achieved a Merit Status.  This period was one of the best times in my Art & Design life, having the freedom to experiment and mix Graphic Design with Fine Art processes.

Now, over three years later I am in my third year of BA (Hons) Visual Communication at Birmingham City University and thoroughly enjoying it.  In this time I have been able to study, photography, animation, graphic design, and fine art in more depth and have loved every minute.  One particular area of this course that I got the most pleasure from was Reality & Documentary Photography.  For this I had to get to know a variety of people and gain their trust enough for me to take photos of them going by their everyday business.  I think this has improved my social skills and has given me something I can take forward into the industry, experience.

Lately I have been involved in a Typography Design course.  For this I had to come up with numerous workable ideas for Font design and I think my final piece was very successful and is available for you too view via the Font design link on the right navigation bar

Separate from University I have been voluntarily designing for an Internet Fan site which you can see via the Voluntary Graphic Design link.
